Mark Dehen, DC, named Chiropractic Distinguished Alumnus of the Year

Second-generation chiropractor has a long list of awards, community service and service to the chiropractic profession.

Mark Dehen, DC, (’86) received the Distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award from the College of Chiropractic at Northwestern Health Sciences University. The award was presented at the Chiropractic Homecoming and Winter Gathering event Feb. 7-9.

This award is presented each year at the chiropractic homecoming to an individual who exemplifies leadership, dedication and service to the University and the chiropractic profession.

Dr. Dehen is a second-generation doctor of chiropractic, who was inspired by his late father, Dr. David Dehen (‘61). He boasts a long list of awards, community service and service to the chiropractic profession, including:

  • Past president of the Minnesota Chiropractic Association
  • Past chair of the Chiropractic Council on Guidelines and Practice Parameters
  • Participation on various Blue Cross and ChiroCare committees
  • Member, the American Chiropractic Association
  • Member, ACC RAC
  • Member, Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research.

His commitment to the community in which he lives is remarkable and includes long-time service on the City Council, holding much position in his church, active membership in the Chamber of Commerce, membership in the Elks and Moose Club, membership in the American Legion, and serving on the United Way campaign. 

Dr. Dehen has received many awards, including the Minnesota Chiropractic Association Award of Excellence and Chiropractor of the Year; Fellowship in the International College of Chiropractors; and “Best Chiropractor” in his community.

He has been practicing for more than 25 years and is a certified member of the Back Pain Recognition program by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). He also assists local industries with ergonomic consulting and injury prevention.

He is currently serving as Mayor of North Mankato. Dr Dehen is married to his wife of 17 years, Kim, and they have two children, Jackson and Grace.
